UPDATING THE CAPIVEWORKS CW700 & CW 800

How to Update BIN’S by USB

1. Download latest bin file from satmods.com forums..
2. Load Unziped file to your USB memory stick...
3. Insert USB stick into the CW700 or 800...
4. On your TV you should see displayed “USB Ready”
5. There are 2 ways to navigate to the update screen. On your remote, you can either...
press Menu > USB or simply press the USB button on the remote..
6. You should see the contents of your USB memory stick on the right hand side of your screen...
7. Use the arrow keys on the remote to select the desired bin file....
8. Press OK. Answer yes to “Update the software database”
9. You should now see a countdown on your front panel LED
10.When update finishes, answer yes to “Reboot receiver now?” You can now remove the USB stick....
11. If this is not your first software update, then you need only do steps 1-10....
12. If this is the initial software update, do a factory default (menu > installation > Factory default > no > yes)
13. Enter language settings, set time (for Eastern Standard Time, select -5 hours) and scan channels. (see next section)
14. Do your settings (menu > system settings > system > channel No. > select SID, auto TP to on, & long channel names to on) (menu > system settings > osd > autoroll to on)
15. Exit completely until you are back at T.V. displaying scrambled channel.
16. Now enable patch (press F1 then 000) you should see (“patch enable” on t.v screen)
17.Wait for keys to roll and watch T.V

Setting up satellites (Channel Scan)

1. Select MENU on your remote...
2. Select ANTENNA SETTING....
3. To scan Echostar 7 channels, select Satellite name Ehcostar (119W)
4. Select Transponder 12239
5. You should see “Found Echostar 7 (119.W)” above the Quality bar. This indicates you are locked onto the right satellite..
6. Press the “RED” button on the remote, channels will scan
7. Repeat procedure for each satellite you have installed.
8. Note that when you scan the channels initially, only channels that are displaying video at that time will be scanned as a TV channel, all others will be scanned as a
RADIO channel. Certain channels, such as sporting channels only display video during games, in which case should you notice missing channels, you can re-scan the channels during games. Make sure to answer NO to delete existing data. This will add
any new channels to your existing channel list.
Notes on multiple satellites installed at the same time:
- When setting up BEV and Dish Network, install 119 on diseqc port 1, 110 on port 2, 91 on port 3...
- Transponder to use when setting up 119 is 12239, for 110 use 12224

Other features:

1. To adjust the sat signal press > l press EXIT to get off the screen. Note that
changing this setting can actually degrade your signal.
2. To bring up the key menu, press page down on the remote. Remove from screen press EXIT. Use this feature to manually enter keys, should this be necessary.
3. To populate the guide use populating channels listed in satnow forums....
4. Use SAT button in USB menu: USB TOOL
a. Delete File
b. Rename File
c. Disk Information
d. Format Disk

Remote control setup:

Code input

1. Turn on the device which you planning to program
2. Find the code from the code list to match the brand of your device.
3. Press "SET" button until 3 seconds later, then LED will be light on.
4. Press the device function button( ex. TV), then the LED will light once.
5. Input the 3 digi code which matches the device in the list, the LED will blink once for each
code. If the code is valid for this device, the LED will be off, means the code is fit for this
device. If the code is not valid, therj the LED will be off after blink some times, means the
code is not correct for this device, need to input new code..
6. Now to test whether the RCU can control the device, if can't, return back to the code setup
procedure, and input other code that supposed to match this brand device, if all the code
under this brand can't control this device, you need to try the following way by code
searching, you may be able to find the code.
7. Write down the correct code for next time use.

Manual code search

Code searching means starting from the current device by pulsing 1 to continue search, one
time "POWER" one time plus 1 to the code.
1. Press "SET" and hold it for 3 seconds, then LED will be light.
2. Press the function button (ex.TV) , LED will blink once
3. Aim the RCU to the device (ex. TV) and press "POWER" button, one time "POWER" you will
get LED blink once..
4. When it switch off the device, means the code you input is correct, then press"EXIT" and
save the code, LED will be off.
If you have problems with tv and dvd hold SET down for 3 seconds while holding SET push TV
or DVD while SET is being pushed. Led light on TV or DVD should stay on, then put code in.

Code auto setup

1. Press"SET" and hold for 3 seconds, LED will be on
2. Press the function button(ex.TV), LED will blink once.
3. Aim the RCU to the device (ex.TV) and press"POWER" button once and release.
4. When it switch off the device, means the code you input is correct, then press"EXIT" and
save the code, LED will be off.

Code Display Setup

1. Press "SET" and hold for 3 seconds, LED will be on,
release the button.
2. Press the function button (ex. TV), LED will blink once.
3. Press "SET" button again, LED will blink once.
4. Press any numeric button, when you press one number and make the LED blink once, this
number should be the first one in the code.
5. Repeat the above 4, take the same way to find the second and third number for this code.
When you find the third number, the LED will be off.
